(poems) thirteen: Camping Tales

Come With Me

Come with me,

To the country,

To lie under a tree,

And see what will be.

Let's spend the day,

In a place far away,

Watching flowers sway,

And creatures play.

Out In the Sun

We two out in the sun,

Will be such fun,

Until the day is done,

Laughing and loving as one.

Camp Fire Burning Bright

Camp fire burning bright,

Bathing us in your flickering light,

Making us feel that everything is right,

And keeping us warm throughout the night.

A Starry Night

A starry night, with a moon so bright;

Where bats flap and fly, owls hoot and cry;

And foxes bark somewhere in the dark;

As I lay down my head, tucked up safe in my bed.

The Field

There is a field where the rabbits munch,

Where sometimes I go to eat my lunch,

It's a quiet place where the birds sing sweet,

Where I sit on the grass and rest my weary feet.

And on some sunny days there are deer,

And I sit and think I wish you were here,

Cos we would lie down and wait for night,

And look up at the stars and the moon so bright.

Tent For Rent

A tent for rent, only a little bent, but cheap as chips, perfect for those holiday trips!

Tent Is As Tent Does

Put me up, don't put me down;

Peg me out on grassy ground;

Climb inside in the fading light;

And I'll keep you safe all night.

I'll give you shade under a sunny sky;

And If it rains I'll keep you dry;

And when you're ready and all done;

Pack me up and we'll be gone!

Camp Fire Crackle

Camp fire crackle;

Camp fire burn;

Take this wood;

And in to ashes turn.

Camp fire hot;

Camp fire bright;

Keep me warm;

On this cold cold night.

Countryside Dreams

Birds and bees,

Plants and trees,

Wild animals and deer,

You'll find it all out here.

Sunshine and showers,

Meadows in flower,

Rivers and streams,

Make for countryside dreams.

Little Butterfly

Flutter, flutter little butterfly;

Float, float high in the sky;

Woosh, woosh beat your wings;

And when I see you my heart sings.

Tent

Tent keep me safe, keep me warm;

tent don't blow away in this fierce storm;

tent shelter me on this dark night;

tent be here for me until it's light.

One Pole, Two Pole

One pole, two pole, three pole, four;

A zip and a flap make up the door;

A canvas shell, guide ropes tight;

This tent will be our home for the night!

Not Much Of A Tent

I unpacked my tent it had no poles,

and the groundsheet it was full of holes,

and if it couldn't get worse even the zips were stuck,

and all I could think was oh...

...dear not much of a tent is it!!
