(poems) five: Halloween tales

All Hallow's Eve Night

In the land of the dead tis a deadly rite,

A horror awakens under a moon so bright,

A lonely face ashened in panic and fright,

A blood curdling scream, a sickening sight,

Makes for the darkest All Hallow's Eve night.

You doth awake

The moon a sliver, the night so dark,

Silence broken by a lonesome bark.

An angry snarl, a wolf's cry,

Eyes sparkle against a bitter sky.

A voice calls out, all is not right,

A ghostly presence dressed in white.

A deadly terror you can not forsake,

Until from this nightmare you doth awake!

Halloween

pumpkins & munchkins shining bright,

ghouls & ghosts all glowing white,

vampires & werewolves are a scary sight,

be afraid my friend on this Halloween night

A Tale for Halloween

Roses are red, blood is too,

A tale of terror unfolds for you.

A tale of horror, a tale of fright,

A tale is told this Halloween nite.

A scream out loud, a monster or two,

A grizzly ghoul leaves a trail of goo.

A vampires bite, a mummy's curse,

On a night like this there is nothing worse.

A werewolf howls, the dead do rise,

And zombies lurch before your eyes.

A ghostly figure all dressed in white,

Whilst a pumpkin bathes you in a scary light.

But fear thee not, the nightmare will go,

When the first ray's of dawn in the sky do glow.

Monster under the bed

Of course there are monsters under the bed a voice said,

who do you think keeps you safe and chases away the nightmares?

And she looked under the bed, but there was nothing to be seen,

Am I imagining it all she thought, maybe too much cheese before bed.

And then the voice replied, no you are not my dear,

I'm under the bed hiding just out of sight so no one knows I'm here but you.

But if you ever need me you just have to speak out,

And I'll keep you safe, of that there's no doubt at all.

"Ok, great" she said out loud,  turned out the light, and pulled the covers over her head,

And soon she was soundly asleep and the monster kept her safe all through the night.

norweigen trolls

I shall tell a tale of norweigen trolls,

of feasting on people like they were ham rolls,

of brave young men fighting for glory,

and damsels in distress all part of the story.

it all ends well when the day is done,

the trolls are dead and the damsels hearts have been won!

The Night of Halloween

Dark is the night, pumpkins bright,

Monsters roam under pale moonlight.

A scream rings out, a church bell tolls,

Ghosts and ghouls stealing souls.

Witches cackle, black cats meow,

Vampires and werewolves out on the prowl.

The scariest of sights can be seen,

On this the night of Halloween!
